Riccardi
2019
Vinification
The Sangiovese grapes for the Riccardi wine are picked entirely by hand at the end of September. After selection, de-stemming and soft pressing of the berries, they must ferment at temperatures that are constantly controlled in 45 and 65hl Slavonian oak barrels to fully preserve the classic aromas of this typical Tuscan grape varietal. The wine is aged in 30 and 40hl Slavonian and French barrels for 24 months, 6 months in concrete vats and 2 years in bottle before release, contributing to its rich complexity.
Tasting notes
A wine defined by purity, offering a clear and authentic expression of Sangiovese.
Aromatic notes of crushed raspberry and cranberry are lifted by sweet blueberry fruit. Subtle spice notes of cinnamon and cardamom add complexity.
The palate is juicy yet structured, with bright acidity and sharp freshness. The tannins are smooth and silky, giving balance and flow.
